About Kelly Southee

Kelly Southee enjoys capturing places both near and far. Her first creative career was as an interior architect, giving her experience across residential and corporate projects. From this background she has developed a keen awareness of what people value and admire, in life and in art.

The landscape has always been a strong theme in Kelly’s work. She has enjoyed tramping, hiking, cycling and rock scrambling around the world over the years. This love of nature is highlighted in her mountain painting and en-plein air works.

Kelly's ongoing series 'Absurditrees' features urban and suburban trees shaped into strange forms due to their proximity hugging busy roads, powerlines, or buildings.

She has exhibited Absurditrees widely and continues to find new specimens to capture.

And for fun Kelly captured the personalities of fresh produce in 'Playing with Food' - a series exhibited in 2013, with prints of the major pieces available through the SHOP.

Kelly is available for private commissions, and offers her most popular work as high quality limited edition reproductions via her Shop.
